Is Blogging Worth It in 2019?

Is blogging dead? Is it really worth it to start a blog in 2019?

The short answer is NO, it’s not dead and YES, you should start a blog this year.

But, the important question is WHY. Why should you take the time to set up a blog, write articles, and publish them online.

Can you still gather a base of readers, earn passive income, and express your voice, thoughts, and views online?

With this article, I want to reveal why it’s the best time to start blogging and how you can do it. You’ll quickly see why you should jump in NOW and stop waiting around to put your voice out there online.

Along with writing this article, I also have a short e-course that will guide you through how to come up with a blog idea, set up your site, and publish your first article.

You can STILL earn income (and it’s easier than before)

There are countless blogs that are earning income as we speak, many of which earning five and six figures per year.

Your goal might not be to earn lots from the blog, but at least it’s nice to know that yes, you can be financially compensated for your work. If you put in the time to write good articles, you’ll get traffic and be able to monetize your audience.

With the explosion of social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and established giants like Google, readers have more places to discover content than ever before – and they are hungry.

Readers want to be able to connect with bloggers that can help answer their questions, guide them through choices, and who are similar to themselves. This is why mommy bloggers are so popular.

Now, with improved technology and educational sources (like this blog), it’s easier to build up an audience online. You can copy the strategies that are working right now to get attention to your posts.

You’ll find readers everywhere – literally

Do you remember when people used to stay up to date with read RSS feeds?

Aside from typing in their website name, that was like the ONLY way to stay up to date with your favorite bloggers. It sucked.

Now a days, readers will follow your work on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, Email, etc. Some of my readers find me through LinkedIn, others through Google, and some from the major social networks.

It’s so much easier to gather a crowd than it used to be. With so many options, you can have readers discovering your site from all over the world. It’s insane.

You can’t just expect people to stumble on your blog, but if you’re willing to promote your articles, you WILL get traffic and readers discovering your work.

You don’t have to be tech savy

Setting up a WordPress blog used to be a really big pain. You’d have to figure out how to install the WordPress code base on your hosting provider, and then which plugins you needed to combat spam.

Now, that’s all changed. You can install WordPress on your website with the click of a button. The video that I linked to will guide you step-by-step through setting up the blog on a hosting provider in a matter of 15 minutes.

WordPress is great because it comes with a ton of free functionality, plugins, and themes. You can use these to set up a professional blog quickly, so that you don’t look like an amateur. All the top bloggers use WordPress.

As a result of the growing number of bloggers, many hosting providers have made it dead simple to install WordPress and get your blog started. It doesn’t cost that much at all and you end up with a secure, dependable website that will handle anything you throw at it.

New experts and influencers emerge every day

There has been an explosion of experts, influencers, and thought leaders that have gathered huge audiences seemingly overnight. They’ve used their clout to make books become instant bestsellers and in a sense have become internet celebrities.

I can’t think of any reason why YOU can’t become the next big influencer. All you have to do is put yourself out there! You never know who will come across your website and decide to share it with their following. All of a sudden, you see a rush of traffic and subscribers.

People are always on the look out for others that share their world view. By sharing your voice, you can rally a group of readers around your interests and perspective. It’s a powerful way to change the world for the better.

I’ve had readers reach out saying that I’ve changed their life, helped them overcome difficulties, and even inspired them to make major changes. It’s crazy to think my tiny blog had that big of an impact.

434% better chance of ranking well on search engines

According to Tech Client, you have a greater chance of ranking well on search engines like Google when you have a blog. This means… FREE traffic!

Readers will be able to discover your blog posts by simply typing key words into search engines. This means that you won’t have to do any work to acquire those new eyeballs.

Blogs are really good at attracting search engine traffic because they are continually publishing new content. Networks like Google LOVE that. In addition, when you write a blog post, you’ll be linking out to other articles you have written and related websites.

Since search engines follow links to determine the relevancy of a piece of content, you’re more likely to see a boost in rankings. All of the inter-linked content will be great for your brand and it will help other people find you online.

Readers trust blog recommendations

One of the things that hasn’t changed about the blogging industry is that readers still look to bloggers for recommendations, reviews, and suggested products. They are far more likely to trust your opinion than that of an advertisement popping up in their news feed.

This is why affiliate marketing is a popular way to monetize your blog once you’ve gathered an audience. When you refer a website visitor to a product or a service, you’ll get a commission check should they choose to purchase it.

You don’t have to do any kind of customer service. You don’t need to spend money sending out the product to the customer. You will simply collect a check when they make a payment. It’s the closest thing thing to magic money that you’ll come across.

Along with recommending other people’s products, you can also recommend your own services, books, or courses that are a good fit for their needs. Readers will view you as an expert and relatable point of contact throughout their personal journey.

Here’s what’s different…

The main difference between blogging now and before is that there is more competition. More people are trying to start blogs because they’ve seen how profitable it is.

If you’re at all interest in starting your own, don’t hold off. You can go through my 7-day launch plan and get started quickly. We’ll also discuss how to write an effective blog post that’s going to get noticed.
